In the third quarter of 2022, the performance of the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps in Norway presents a diverse landscape. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user trends for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting with 11.8K downloads at the end of June, the app saw a peak of 16K downloads in mid-July. However, this was followed by a steady decline, reaching around 6K by the end of September. Active users also showed a similar pattern, peaking at 33.8K in mid-July before gradually decreasing to approximately 25.4K by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a relatively stable download rate, with slight increases peaking at around 5.9K in mid-July and ending the quarter with about 3.7K downloads. The app’s active users grew consistently, starting from 89.2K at the end of June and reaching almost 115K by the end of September.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery showed moderate activity in weekly downloads, beginning with 1.8K downloads at the end of June and fluctuating throughout the quarter, peaking at 2K downloads in mid-August and ending with around 1.5K downloads. The active users followed a similar trend, starting at 4.2K and peaking at 4.3K in mid-August before stabilizing around 3.8K towards the end of September.

Cabify had a more modest performance in terms of downloads, starting at 317 and peaking slightly at 466 in late July, before experiencing a decline to 120 by the end of September. The app’s active users showed a decline as well, starting at 628 at the end of June and dropping to about 478 by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver maintained relatively low but steady download numbers, peaking at 265 in mid-September and ending the quarter with 218 downloads. The active user base showed a consistent increase, starting from 3.3K at the end of June and reaching nearly 3.7K by mid-September, before slightly declining to 3.5K by the end of the quarter.
